Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom begins a lengthy refurbishment closure tomorrow, July 7. TouringPlans paid their respects with a final visit , and Theme Park Insider is calling it a farewell — one of the longest-running attractions in Disney history, designed by Walt himself for the 1964 World's Fair, will be dark for the foreseeable future.
The show traces American progress through the twentieth century across four acts, anchored by the same Audio-Animatronic family Walt helped develop. No details on what the update entails or how long it will last — for now, if you're at Magic Kingdom today, get in line.

Veryl Jones is retiring from Festival of the Lion King — after more than 20 years in the Pride Lands
Veryl E. Jones, one of the most beloved performers at Walt Disney World, has announced his retirement after more than 20 years in Festival of the Lion King at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Jones spent over two decades bringing the Pride Lands to life in one of Walt Disney World's most celebrated theatrical experiences — the kind of cast member whose name long-time guests actually know.
If you've seen the show in the past two decades and felt that particular charge of energy from the stage, there's a good chance Jones was the reason.

Baby Shark at SeaWorld Orlando starts today
SeaWorld Orlando's Baby Shark programming kicks off today and runs through September 7 — part of a summer packed with live entertainment, the IGNITE fireworks and drone show, the Red White & BBQ food festival, and a FIFA World Cup Fan Zone running through July 19.
