The Monsters, Inc. Roller Coaster Is Under Construction at Hollywood Studios
A new suspended doors-style roller coaster themed to Monsters, Inc. is officially in active construction at Disney's Hollywood Studios, replacing the former Muppet Courtyard and anchoring an all-new Monstropolis-themed land.
Attractions Magazine has published the latest construction update on the Monsters, Inc. roller coaster at Hollywood Studios, confirming that the new "doors"-themed suspended ride is actively taking shape where the Muppet Courtyard once stood. The attraction will anchor a new Monstropolis land in what is fast becoming a transformed back half of the park. It arrives alongside the upcoming May 26 debut of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets — meaning Hollywood Studios will open two brand-new headline coasters in the same calendar year. The overhaul of the park's rear sections represents the most significant change to Hollywood Studios' footprint since Toy Story Land opened in 2018, and Monday's construction photos show the project is well underway.
